Creative Elements was established in 1998 when owner Michael Elkus began to produce embroidered merchandise for the American Paraplegic Society. Michael and his wife Helene created and produced a high-end home shopping program. The program was presented in sitcom form on the USA Network.
Through their contacts with the show, Michael encountered Christopher Reeve’s agent. Michael worked closely with the APS and Christopher Reeve to raise awareness. As requests for embroidered merchandise grew so did interest in screened apparel and promotional products. It led to a natural progression into the ad specialties industry.
Michael started his career in the Men’s retail clothing business in 1963 joining his father. Together they facilitated the Gentry Shops with sixteen stores in eight states. In 1998, after 31 years in business, Michael launched his career in the ad specialties industry. His knowledge of merchandising, industry contacts and quality customer service made the transition to ad specialties seamless.
